Buying
Buy with someone who will still answer after closing.
Buying in Connecticut moves fast and the paperwork is specific. We handle the specifics and keep you clear on the decisions that are actually yours.
How it goes
Six steps. No surprises.
Talk first
Thirty minutes, by phone or at the office. What you want, what you can spend, how soon. We will tell you what is realistic in the towns you are naming, anywhere in the state.
Buyer representation
Connecticut requires a written agreement before an agent can show you property as your representative. We walk you through it line by line, including how we are paid, before you sign anything.
Financing
A pre-approval from a lender you trust, before the first showing. If you do not have one, we can introduce you to lenders we have closed with; the choice is always yours.
Showings
We see what you want to see, and we tell you what we notice: the roof, the basement, the neighbor's fence line, the commute at 5 pm.
Offer and contract
We draft the offer, negotiate it, and then the broker reads it before it goes out. Connecticut closings run through attorneys, and we work alongside yours.
Inspection to keys
Inspection, appraisal, final walk-through, closing. We stay on the file through all of it, and we are still here the week after when the water heater has an opinion.
Relocating
Coming from out of state?
We work often with families moving into Connecticut, including military families. Nicholas Aponte-Rodriguez holds the Military Relocation Professional certification and can run a search for you before you are here.
Fair housing
Everyone, every time.
Lewis Real Estate follows federal and Connecticut fair housing law in every showing, offer and conversation. Equal Housing Opportunity is a commitment, not a logo.
